Service learning is the development and application of knowledge and skills towards meeting an identified and authentic community need. This is one of the most enjoyable aspects of core as students collaborate with the local and international community in issues which are significant to them. Examples of our students taking an active role include supporting and volunteering their time for orphanages in Nepal, reducing plastic consumption in school, volunteering in local animal and educational centres and reading to primary students.
In this research-based approach, students often undertake service initiatives related to topics studied previously in their academic disciplines, utilizing skills, understandings and values developed in these studies.
