Curriculum
Highest Quality Learning
At DIS, students are motivated and empowered to learn independently. They take control of their own learning and are engaged in challenging, stimulating activities which are facilitated by the teacher but led by the students.
Our learners are curious and seek out possible scenarios to compare and apply new learning. At DIS, students are involved in assessing the success of their own and others learning throughout lessons and confidently set targets within the context of their own learning.
Students are able to make links and connections through their learning and can frequently identify real life scenarios where application is relevant. Through cross-curricular links, students are constantly encouraged to broaden their thinking and how themes and topics may impact on other curriculum areas.
Various educational trips take place throughout the year where interactive learning enables students to make connections with the wider world.
