Congratulations Class of 2025
In a record-breaking year for Deira International School, all students who completed the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and the IB Career-related Programme (IBCP) passed, achieving a 100% success rate across both pathways.
The school, managed by the Al Futtaim Education Foundation, registered its largest-ever IBDP cohort this year. The Class of 2025 posted strong results across the board.
Outstanding results
IBDP students earned an average score of 34.2 points, with 46% of candidates scoring 35 points or more, and 84% of all subject grades at Level 5 or above. Two students achieved an outstanding 43 points, while 11% of the cohort reached the elite 40+ point bracket. The average grade per subject stood at 5.42, reflecting a consistently high standard of academic achievement.
IBCP students also celebrated a year of outstanding results. With Distinction grades awarded to nearly 60% of the cohort, and one student earning 19 IB subject points, the highest IBCP score recorded at the school, this year’s group exemplified the value of combining academic study with real-world learning through BTEC qualifications in Business, Sport, and Travel and Tourism.
Academic consistency
Looking back on the students’ performance, Simon O’Connor, Director of Deira International School, remarked: “I am absolutely delighted with these exceptional IB results, which will enable our students to flourish as they move on to universities and pathways around the world. Achieving a 100% pass rate across both the Diploma and Career-related Programmes, with an impressive average Diploma score of 34.2 and nearly half of our students attaining 35 points or more, is a remarkable accomplishment.”
“These outcomes reflect not only the hard work, resilience, and ambition of our students, but also the outstanding dedication of our teachers and the steadfast support of our parents” he added.
In the same breadth, Helen Wallis, Head of IB, highlighted the strong academic consistency:
“We are incredibly proud of our 2025 IB Diploma students for their exceptional achievements. An average points score of 34.2 and an average grade of 5.42 reflect their hard work, resilience, and commitment to academic excellence. With 46% of students achieving 35 points or more, and nearly half of all subject grades awarded at a 6 or above, these results are a testament not only to the dedication of our learners, but also to the outstanding support provided by our teachers and the wider school community.”
Impressive average point score
Meanwhile, Doug Pettitt, Head of Secondary, spoke about the broader significance of the results: “We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate our incredible IB results at Deira International School. With a 100% pass rate across both the IBDP and IBCP, an impressive average point score of 34.2 at IBDP, and our largest ever IB cohort, this year’s achievements are truly exceptional. To see 84% of all DP grades at 5 or above, nearly half at 6 or above, and two students awarded a remarkable 43 points is testament to the dedication, resilience, and ambition of our students and staff. These results not only reflect academic excellence but also the strength of our IB culture at DIS.”
Adding to this, Kimberley Shaw, Head of IBCP & BTEC, shared her reflections on the success of the vocational pathway: “I’m delighted to share the incredible success of this year’s IBCP cohort, a 100% pass rate! Our students achieved an impressive average BTEC score of Distinction, with nearly 60% earning the highest possible grade of Distinction. One student also amassed a huge 19 points over three subjects – our highest score to date.”
“These results are more than just numbers, they highlight the true power of vocational education, which blends academic knowledge with real-world skills. This balanced approach has empowered our students to reach their full potential and prepare confidently for life beyond school,” she added.
